I had a tuna melt for lunch yesterday in a local café.

Threw out the nets
Hauled in the catch
Packed the tuna
Transported the fish

Someone sowed the seeds
Harvested the grain
Culled wheat from chaff
Mixed in water and yeast
Baked the sourdough bread

Someone tilled the land
Planted the seedlings
Watered the fields
Fertilized the soil
Picked the lettuce and tomato

Someone raised the cow
Led it to pasture
Kept it free from parasites
Milked its teats
Converted milk to cheddar cheese

Someone risked opening a restaurant
Took my order
Assembled the ingredients
Grilled the bread
Brought out my food

So many hands
have blessed
this simple meal.
